Why did you apply for the Master of Land and Water Systems?
I am passionate about building sustainable food systems in BC through climate change that involves re-regionalizing and incorporating greater access to locally grown, organic foods. My aim is to become a Professional Agrologist in either the public or private sector to work on projects that bring people together around food, build community, and improve environmental sustainability in our food systems.
What are you most excited about learning in the MLWS program?
Getting a deeper understanding of how our food system came to be the way it is today, both locally and globally, and learning more about watershed science and how are watersheds are projected to change due to climate change. I am excited to learn about the policies that are most influential and where more work needs to be done to ensure an environmentally sustainable, healthy, and community-oriented food system for generations to come.
What are some of your favourite hobbies?
Skiing and snowboarding in the resorts and in the backcountry. Mountain biking around the Sea to Sky area. Spending time with friends and family. Growing and cooking delicious foods 🙂
