Why did you apply for the Master of Land and Water Systems?
While my academic and professional experiences have been deeply rewarding, I recognize the importance of continually expanding and refining my knowledge. The Master of Land and Water Systems program offers an opportunity to deepen my understanding and acquire advanced research methodologies focused on sustainability and resource management. By delving into these areas, I aim to enhance my ability to contribute effectively to improving global food systems and addressing critical environmental challenges. My goal is to extend my impact beyond what I can currently achieve and collaborate with others to make a meaningful difference in these crucial fields.
What are you most excited about learning in the MLWS program?
I’m especially excited to learn more about soil science, focusing on how current challenges like soil degradation and erosion impact land productivity and ecosystem health. I look forward to studying advanced techniques for soil conservation, restoration, and management, and exploring the latest research on soil microbiomes and their role in sustainability.
Understanding the historical context of soil use and mismanagement will provide valuable insights into how we can better protect and enhance soil health for the future.
What are some of your favourite hobbies?
I love diving headfirst into the world of food culture—yes, I’m a big foodie! I get a kick out of exploring diverse culinary traditions, experimenting with new recipes, and uncovering the fascinating stories behind different dishes. Whether it’s savouring street food, sampling new restaurants, or tackling complex recipes at home, I’m always up for a trip to flavour town.
When I’m not on a culinary quest, you might find me lounging on the beach with a good book, roaming through museums and galleries for a dose of creativity, or discovering hidden gems in cityscapes and hiking trails. These adventures keep me refreshed and inspired!
