Why did you apply for the master of land and water systems?
My academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of environmental sustainability and urban planning, shaped significantly by my undergraduate program in Urban Forestry. However, the classes I’ve taken so far mainly focus on the big picture, like how cities affect the environment and how climate change comes into play. The Master of Land and Water Systems program delves into more detailed aspects of land and water issues, which I want to dive deeper into. I think the classes I took in my undergrad about conservation and sustainability would be helpful in this program.
What are you most excited about learning in the MLWS programs?
What excites me most about this program is how it mixes different areas like ecology, water science, and soil science with real-world policy stuff. This would be the perfect next step for me and help me get the skills I need to make a difference. I’m hoping this program will set me up with new ways to solve environmental problems, whether in a city or out in the country.
What are some of your favourite hobbies?
I like to go hiking. I usually take photos of the trails and appreciate the beauty of nature.
