Why did you apply for the Master of Land and Water Systems?
I applied to the MLWS program to develop my professional skills in the realm of agriculture. I hope to not only improve my knowledge and confidence around soil and water management, but build my credibility in the professional world. In addition, I was interested in surrounding myself in an inspired academic environment, to share ideas and excitement and make connections with a new community.
What are you most excited about learning in the MLWS program?
I’m most excited about learning about the state of soil health management in Canada and what is being done to improve resiliency to our agricultural systems.
What are some of your favourite hobbies?
I am hugely passionate about farming and gardening and I’m currently wrapping up my 3rd season of farming. Even when I get home from work at the farm you can’t keep me out of the garden. Included in this is honing my skills at hot composting and worm composting. Outside the garden I love spending time in the outdoors, with activities such as skiing, biking, surfing and backpacking. I also love getting creative in the kitchen with all the farm fresh veggies :)!
