What are your main job responsibilities or activities in your current position?
I conduct Phase 1 & 2 site assessments which involve desktop research, fieldwork, data analysis, and technical report preparation.
I also support field leads, site supervisors, and project management team with research on reclamation and remediation projects.
What do you enjoy and also, what do you find challenging about your current position?
I enjoy conducting historical research on contaminated areas and collaboratively working with the team to find potential recommendations to protect the environment. It gives a lot of satisfaction to work on problems and find solutions.
Analyzing datasets could be a challenging part but at the same time, it’s a learning experience.
How has your education in the MLWS program served you in your career?
The MLWS coursework prepared me for industrial projects. It gave me the skills to write technical reports, conduct desktop research, and perform watershed assessments. All these skills are vital for my current job.
