ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Lesley Dampier is the new Research and Teaching Technician at the Faculty of Land and Food Systems. Lesley comes from a background in environmental consulting, where she spent over ten years implementing innovative solutions to our waste management challenges. As a manager, Lesley was motivated to support her teams in achieving both their personal and professional goals, while meeting the organization’s objectives. Lesley believes strongly that engaging and effective science communication is critical to our future. She has spent some time as a Super Science Club Facilitator with Science World, helping to engage young learners in science. She also believes that first-person experiences in nature can be transformative and that these experiences help us connect to the world around us. As a Girl Guide leader and parent, she is helping many realize these experiences.
