Why did you apply for the Master of Land and Water Systems?
I am interested in the intersection between food and energy. My passion lies in organic and regenerative agriculture systems that follow principles of agroecology, a whole-systems approach to farming and food systems that create resilient ecosystems, food production and sustainable communities. I applied to this program because I hope to some day be able to help change food policies that restrict communities from being able to grow, process and access healthy and sustainable food.
What are you most excited about learning in the MLWS program?
I am excited about meeting faculty, staff other students within our program and beyond, to connect, discuss and learn from each other and the work we are interested in.
What are some of your favourite hobbies?
I enjoy spending summers in the mountains: hiking, biking, climbing and camping in the backcountry. I love being involved in community, through volunteering at the local school garden project, attending community dinners and participating in food security meetings.
