Why did you apply for the Master of Land and Water Systems?

I've always found that my interests have led me down a number of paths, particularly within the natural science and environmental disciplines. My varying interests and my efforts to explore many avenues of study have led me to pursue an honours double major at the undergraduate level, and the MLWS program will again allow me to experience my diverse interests. Additionally, I applied for the MLWS program because of its professional approach. This program was appealing to me because it is designed to equip its students with the skills needed to make a real impact in the environment sector.

What are you most excited about learning in the MLWS program?

The notion of enhancing my scientific skills while learning the required communication strategies to effectively share and inform on scientific findings excites me. The program will provide valuable experience with making environmental and scientific information accessible, which is crucial in the pursuit of a career as a relevant environmental professional. With the skills I gain from the MLWS program I am excited to pursue my professional Agrologist accreditation and to work on improving communities with a scientific and sustainable approach.

What are some of your favourite hobbies?

Some of my favourite hobbies include: spelunking, reading, dancing, cooking, hiking, and traveling. I also enjoy anything that involves the wear of waders such as river channel surveying.
